Overview

Philanthropy Specialist role at Heart Foundation in Subiaco. This is a full-time, permanent position responsible for growing and managing high-value donor relationships across Western Australia. Reporting to the WA General Manager, you will lead the state's major gifts and trust/foundation portfolio, collaborating with local and national teams to deliver measurable impact.

Responsibilities
  • Managing and growing a portfolio of major donors, trusts, and foundations
  • Developing a WA-specific philanthropy strategy and business plan
  • Re-engaging and deepening relationships with current and lapsed donors
  • Writing compelling cases for support and tailored funding proposals
  • Identifying new prospects and creating a pipeline of long-term supporters
  • Hosting donor engagement and stewardship events across WA
  • Collaborating with the national philanthropy team to align strategy and processes
  • Working with internal teams to ensure proposals reflect key program priorities
  • Providing in-person support and donor care to WA-based philanthropists
  • Forecasting income and reporting against agreed KPIs
Qualifications
  • Proven experience managing major donor or high-value client relationships
  • Confidence securing large philanthropic gifts (e.g. $50,000+)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with a diverse donor base
  • Excellent communication and proposal writing skills
  • Strong planning and organisational skills with a strategic mindset
  • Experience working with CRM or fundraising databases (e.g. Raiser\'s Edge)
  • An understanding of the donor journey and moves management
  • Knowledge of Australia\'s philanthropic landscape, trusts, and foundations
  • Willingness to attend events and meetings outside regular hours when required
  • Full working rights in Australia
