The Role
We are scaling rapidly and are looking for a motivated and ambitious Business Development Representative to join our growing sales team in Australia. You'll play a key role in building our sales pipeline by identifying high-value potential customers in Australia and New Zealand, engaging them with personalized outreach, and qualifying opportunities for the wider sales team.

This role is based in Melbourne, Australia. Applicants must have full working rights in Australia to be considered for this role.
Responsibilities- Proactively source new leads through outbound prospecting (email, LinkedIn, events / conferences, phone)
- Qualify inbound and conference-generated leads to build a healthy sales pipeline
- Research target accounts and personalize outreach to key decision-makers
- Book and coordinate discovery calls and product demos for our Account Executives
- Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to refine messaging and improve lead conversion
- Track and report activity and performance metrics
- Represent Marqo at industry conferences and events
- 1+ years of experience in sales development, business development, or a customer-facing role (AI, SaaS or tech experience a plus)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences
- Proactive, resilient, and motivated by hitting targets
- Comfortable with outbound prospecting and developing creative approaches to engage prospects
- Familiarity with CRM and sales engagement tools (e.g., Salesforce, Apollo, Sybill, LinkedIn Sales Navigator)
- A genuine interest in AI and search technology
