Role details
- Two full-time (or negotiable part-time), fixed-term positions through to June 2027
- Base salary will be in the range $93,491 - $111, % Superannuation (HEW Level 6 / HEW Level 7)
- These positions are open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates only, as a genuine occupational requirement to undertake data collection and research activities within Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities
- Based at Toowong
About This Opportunity
Are you passionate about working with Mob to improve health outcomes? We have exciting opportunities to join an Aboriginal led project working in collaboration with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations to support the sexual health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. You will have the opportunity to work across either of the below research projects:
- Young, Deadly, Free
- GLOWS - Addressing factors influencing HIV and viral hepatitis outcomes among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
You will be part of a team, led by one of Australia's leading Indigenous researchers, Professor James Ward, working to increase awareness of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), HIV and other blood-borne viruses (BBVs) in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Your role in the team will be conducting research and data collection within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and reporting on the research to maximise health outcomes for communities.
This opportunity is offered as a Senior Research Technician (HEW 6) or Principal Research Technician (HEW 7). You will be appointed to the relevant position dependent on your experience and ability to work within the core responsibilities.

About You

The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence to confirm that they are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
