Our Senior Forest Rangers work extensively with clients, stakeholders, and other agencies, using their initiative, problem-solving skills, and technology to deliver operational programs and outcomes. Staff are guided by policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and legislative obligations.

The key duties include monitoring permittees and contractors, coordinating daily operations such as lessee engagements, measuring logs, assessing tree selection, and other operational activities.

A typical week involves:

  1. Planning weekly activities with team members and supervisors
  2. Preparing documents and maps for tasks
  3. Completing safety preparations, including vehicle inspections and safety equipment setup
  4. Traveling by 4WD to forest areas, which may involve long drives
  5. Setting up camp and unloading equipment
  6. Walking long distances on uneven terrain and possibly camping in basic conditions, sometimes far from towns

Our office locations are throughout Queensland, including Toowoomba, Injune, Mitchell, Maryborough, Mundubbera, Monto, Rockhampton, and Cairns.
