Job Description

Fluent in Tamil and have a heart for companionship? Your presence could mean the world.

We're seeking a Tamil speaking volunteer to visit a husband and wife who are feeling socially isolated, with only their immediate family for connection. Once enthusiastic travellers, home cooks and Sudoku lovers, they now long for the simple joy of conversation and companionship. A kind heart, a listening ear, and a gentle presence could mean more than words can say.

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care VolunteerVisitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established topromote links between elderly people and volunteers in their localcommunity.

18 years or older
• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a 30 minute visit between 9am and 5pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
