Overview

Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities. The M&M global business unit has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia, with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world.

This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules are determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.

Major Responsibilities

• Evaluates, selects, and applies standard electrical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications
• Participates in the design, development, modification and evaluation of components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission, and storage of electricity utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)
• Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines
• Provides technical assistance to other electrical personnel and will interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards
• Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project electrical requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution
• Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals

Education And Experience Requirements

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Knowledge of design, requisitions, systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, materials, and computer applications within the Electrical engineering discipline
• Knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods and of precedents in the Electrical discipline and principles and practices of inter-related disciplines
• Knowledge of related construction practices and the associated costs
• Knowledge of application and coordination of 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools on a project
