About the Role

You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. It is one of the nation's most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. The Midwifery Unit Manager role is responsible for the operational management and leadership of Midwifery/Nursing staff to ensure the provision of high quality patient and family-centred care and Midwifery and nursing excellence at unit/ward level. The Midwifery Unit Manager Level 2 responsibilities in relation to patient services, ward or unit management and staff management are in excess of those of a Midwifery Unit Manager Level 1.

Ideal Candidate
  • Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Proven clinical management & leadership experience in a tertiary/district health care facility.
  • Holds or working towards relevant post graduate qualification or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in rostering; managing skill mix & care delivery models according to patient/service need.
  • Proficient problem solving skills & experience in performance management.
  • Advanced communication & negotiation skills & experience in conflict resolution.
  • Experience in quality & change management promoting clinical excellence.
