AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be part of a world-class team leading electrical design for our Data Centers across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. We value customer obsession and innovative solutions to enhance reliability, contributing to global knowledge and continuous improvement.

Applicants should have hands-on electrical design experience throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to commissioning. You will be recognized as a subject matter expert. Amazon supports ongoing learning and employee development.

This role involves approximately 25% travel within the region and internationally, supporting projects across multiple locations.

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Understanding and responding to evolving user requirements.
  • Leading electrical designs in collaboration with other disciplines for coordinated construction documents.
  • Participating in site selection reviews.
  • Designing critical Data Center equipment, including MV infrastructure, generators, UPS, switchgear, transformers, and earthing.
  • Creating designs that meet quality and budget standards.
  • Specifying electrical equipment with regional vendors and manufacturers.
  • Working with utilities and local agencies to ensure compliance with IEC standards, regional codes, and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Reviewing and approving equipment submittals.
  • Defining project scope and supporting during construction.
  • Testing and validating electrical systems with commissioning teams.
  • Managing multiple projects across regions.
  • Traveling to sites for reviews, evaluations, audits, and startup support.
  • Leading within the global team and supporting internal and external stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of experience in mission-critical electrical design.Understanding of regional code requirements across APAC for MV and LV electrical equipment.Experience in cross-discipline design coordination.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Chartered Engineer or Master's in Electrical Engineering.Experience with fast-track design/build projects or major upgrades in a multi-disciplinary environment.Ability to develop new design concepts from exploration to deployment.Creative problem-solving skills to reduce costs without compromising quality or reliability.
