Karuna is a small, nurturing, not-for-profit community Preschool located in the beautiful northern beaches' suburb of Narraweena. Karuna has a maximum enrolment of 30 students across the 3-6 age range and operates between the hours of 8.00 am – 4.00 pm during school terms.
Karuna provides an authentic Montessori educational approach that centres on understanding and meeting the needs of the individual child, instilling a love of learning and a sense of wonder and developing each child's confidence and independent learning skills.
The school has a large, open classroom and a beautiful, natural outdoor environment with enticing play and discovery equipment as well as a lovely garden with views of the long reef headland.
About the Position
Karuna is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, outgoing, self directed and professional Office Administrator/Bookkeeper who is suitably qualified and enjoys working in a collaborative, vibrant and small team environment. You'll be the first point of contact for visitors and families, so excellent verbal and written communication skills, a polished appearance, flexibility, confidentiality, and a friendly, compassionate demeanour are a must.
Load: 3 days per week (approx. 20hrs between 8.30 am-4.00 pm or 8.00 am pm)
Commencement: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the enrolment process from initial enquiry to onboarding
Manage school databases/childcare software system (Kinderm8)
Submit and collect census information, general school reporting
Assist with policy review & updates
Oversee social media accounts and school website (must be familiar with using Instagram/FB, experience using Meta business and WIX website host is desirable)
Fulfil bookkeeping responsibilities, i.e. payroll, accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, and support the Treasurer as required (must be comfortable using or learning Xero)
Key Attributes:
Provenexperienceinasimilar role.
Provenadministrativeskills, includingproficiencyinusingarangeofsoftwareapplications,including MicrosoftWord, Excel and PowerPoint and databases.
Experience using social media platforms is essential, and managing a website host (WIX) is desirable.
Demonstratedabilitytoperformdutiesresponsibly underlimitedsupervision toensurethe achievementofteamgoals.
Experienceinaneducationandcareserviceis highlydesirable.

Requirements:
Valid Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain one)
Experience using XERO
Experience working in an Early Childhood setting highly desirable
Certificate for First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis desirable
