Salary: Level A: $85,555 - $116,094 p.a. plus 17% super

Base pay range: A$85,555.00/yr - A$120,000.00/yr

Your responsibilities
  • Lead forest resource assessments using remote sensing and participatory GIS mapping to develop investment frameworks for sustainable forestry.
  • Collaborate with project investigators, contribute to high-impact publications, and present findings at conferences and seminars.
  • Liaise with industry partners and government bodies to ensure practical relevance of research outcomes.
  • Contribute to teaching and supervision of research students, primarily at the undergraduate level.
You may be a great fit if
  • You are a dedicated researcher with a PhD in forest ecology or a related field, possessing strong GIS and remote sensing skills, and the ability to design and implement field-based research programs while collaborating effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • You may have a PhD (or be near completion) in forest ecology, environmental science, or a related discipline.
  • You possess demonstrated experience in GIS, remote sensing, or participatory mapping.
  • You have a track record of publishing research in relevant areas, commensurate with your experience.
  • You demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English.
  • You show the ability to work cooperatively in a multi-disciplinary research environment.
  • You have experience in engaging with industry stakeholders and fostering collaborative partnerships.
