About The Role

We currently have an opportunity for a Service Desk Operator to join our ICT team in our Townsville Head Office.

As the Service Desk Operator, your main objective will be providing efficient and effective IT support to Queensland country. You will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fulfilling requests raised through the ICT service desk, working with or escalating matters to specialist staff/vendors to ensure quick resolutions and service levels are met.

The position is a full-time 12-month contract, based on a 38-hour working week. The successful applicant will also be required to provide after-hours support to staff on a rostered basis.

About You

To be eligible to apply for this position, you must demonstrate the following:

  • Previous experience in an IT support role
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of existing and emergent technologies
  • Sound knowledge of IT Service Management principles and frameworks such as ITIL
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or similar, or a willingness to study (desirable)
  • Experience in the financial services industry (desirable)
