About the role

The City of Sydney is seeking qualified Gardeners to join our dedicated team responsible for the care and maintenance of over 400 parks, gardens, sporting fields, and open spaces across the City.

You'll supervise and mentor Council workers and apprentices to deliver best practice horticulture and landscape services to the community and local stakeholders. You'll also ensure that all tasks are completed effectively, efficiently, and safely in line with the City's Safe Work Procedures and other service standards.

We're looking for candidates with:

  • Horticulture Certificate III in Parks and Gardens or tertiary and graduate qualifications in a related discipline
  • Experience using computers, iPads, and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, or other platforms
  • A current NSW recognised Drivers Licence and willingness to obtain an MR Class licence
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute horticultural work tasks, including chemical application

This role offers a flexible, team-based working arrangement – known as a 9-day fortnight.

The successful applicant must complete a pre-employment health declaration and medical assessment.
