Senior Project Officer – Conferences & Events

At ASN Events, we believe great events don't just happen, every successful event starts with a team of people who care deeply about making it happen – that's the ASN difference. With more than 35 years delivering conferences and events across Australia and internationally, we're proud of our reputation for professionalism, trust, and results. From large-scale scientific conferences to bespoke association meetings, we create experiences that connect people and ideas.

Now we're looking for a Senior Project Officer to join our team. They'll be someone with a couple of years' event experience who's ready to take the next step and unlock their potential.

About the Role

This role will see you right in the middle of the action, from helping to shape events from the early planning stages all the way through to onsite delivery. You'll work alongside experienced Project Managers and Directors, learn quickly, and have the chance to take on more responsibility as you grow.

It's the perfect opportunity for someone with 1–3 years of event experience who feels ready to move forward and eventually lead their own projects.

What you'll be doing

Event Coordination : Support the end-to-end planning and delivery of conferences, keeping projects on track with checklists, timelines, and budgets.

Delegate Experience : Manage registrations, answer delegate questions, and make sure everyone has a smooth journey from sign-up to arrival.

Program & Speaker Support : Keep speakers on schedule, manage abstract submissions, and ensure program details are accurate.

Client Support : Join client meetings, provide updates, and build strong relationships by being responsive and reliable.

Suppliers & Venues : Coordinate with venues, caterers, accommodation providers, and other partners to make sure all the moving parts fit together.

Marketing & Communications : Update websites, prepare marketing EDM's, and contribute to event communications.

Onsite Delivery : Regular interstate travel (and occasionally overseas) to support events, manage registration desks, and solve challenges on the ground.

Post-Event : Help pull together reports, and client wrap-ups, capturing lessons learned for the future.

What you'll bring

1–3 years of event experience (conferences a bonus, but not essential).

A knack for organisation and juggling priorities.

Clear and confident communication skills – written, verbal, and in person.

Solid skills in Microsoft Office 365; any exposure to Squarespace, social media, or marketing tools is a plus.

High attention to detail, a calm head under pressure, and a solutions-focused mindset.

Flexibility to travel and work outside standard hours when events require it.

Why you'll love working with us

Competitive salary : $70,000 – $80,000 , plus travel and weekend allowances.

Hybrid work – 3 days in our modern Queens Road office and 2 days from home.

Clear pathways to grow into a Project Manager role.

A team that has your back – supportive, collaborative, and passionate about what we do.

Loads of staff initiatives to help balance life in a fast-paced but incredibly rewarding industry.
