Join us in shaping healthier futures. Together we can do more.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of those impacted by violence, abuse, and neglect? Are you a strong, compassionate leader committed to staff wellbeing and patient-centred care? If so, we invite you to apply for the role of DFVSAS Team Leader within the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.

As a vital member of the PARVAN (Prevention and Response to Violence, Abuse and Neglect) Leadership Team, the DFVSAS Team Leader provides operational leadership to the DFVSAS team based at Urunga House. This is an exciting time of integration for the PARVAN service where you'll work closely with key partners across Social Work, Alcohol and Drug Services, Mental Health, Community Health, Acute Services, and the Clinical Forensic Medical Team to ensure seamless and holistic care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a skilled, compassionate multidisciplinary team.
  • Strengthen collaborative practices across multiple services and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to projects related to Violence, Abuse, and Neglect (VAN) across the District.
  • Provide clinical oversight in intake, assessment, and complex care planning.
  • Champion staff wellbeing and professional development through strong mentoring.
  • Drive and participate in Quality Improvement initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and service integration.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a dedicated professional with demonstrated leadership experience, preferably within a VAN or similar framework. You should bring:
  • Experience working with clients impacted by DFV/Sexual Assault or relevant experience
  • Proven ability to mentor and support multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in managing stakeholder relationships and collaborative service delivery.
  • A commitment to trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and patient-focused care.

This is your opportunity to step into a role that makes a genuine difference—supporting recovery, advocating for safety, and shaping the future of integrated care across ISLHD. As part of stepping into this role we offer opportunities for mentoring to grow your leadership in the area.
