Shane's Trees is a forward thinking Arboriculture company operating in Sydney and the Illawarra for over 30 years with a safety culture that underpins our reputation for excellence. We are looking for an experienced Team Leader to work alongside the crew to clear vegetation and conduct drainage maintenance works on the rail corridor from the south of Wollongong to Nowra.
Day to Day Responsibilities- Work with crew to carry out vegetation removal and drain maintenance
- Assist with co-ordinating and scheduling duties for the crew
- Operate excavators and drive trucks
- Use machinery, chainsaws, mowers, snippers, etc. to support works
- Ensure all works are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards
- Liaise with rail authorities to keep operations running smoothly
- Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and compliance checks
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience in grounds maintenance, gardening or labouring within a small team of 3-4 people
- Ability to travel across the South Coast corridor
- Drivers licence and HR licence (with a clean driving record)
- RIW ticket (essential)
- Commitment to a drug & alcohol-free workplace (you can be tested on-site at any time)
- White Card
- Excavator operation with a bucket (desirable)
- Customer service and communication skills
- Above award wages - Full-time including holiday pay OR Casual position
