Support forensic data investigations and eDiscovery for Alvarez & Marsal's Forensic Technology Services team in Brisbane.

Your role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting clients and internal stakeholders throughout the forensic data lifecycle, leveraging technology to uncover, manage, and interpret data-based evidence in legal, regulatory, and investigative situations.
  • Working on complex projects such as disputes, white-collar crime investigations, and post-acquisition matters.
  • Processing digital evidence, performing forensic analysis, and assisting clients in resolving sensitive issues.
  • Handling end-to-end forensic data processes: identification, recovery, processing, analysis, and preservation of digital evidence.
  • Conducting forensic imaging and data capture from various devices and data sources (mobile, endpoint, cloud).
  • Maintaining data integrity through documentation and chain-of-custody procedures.
  • Managing all aspects of the eDiscovery lifecycle, including collection, processing, review, and production of electronically stored information.
  • Providing document review and investigation support, including hyperlinking indexes, data extraction, and bundling.
  • Responding to incidents and analyzing digital artifacts to uncover user behavior and system activity (e.g., file manipulation, USB usage, browser history, chat logs, cryptocurrency transactions).
  • Drafting technical reports and summaries for legal teams and clients.
About you

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in digital forensics, cybersecurity, or eDiscovery within a client-facing professional services environment.
  • Understanding of forensic principles and the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM).
  • Experience using eDiscovery platforms such as Nuix Discover, Relativity, Reveal, or similar.
  • Experience in forensic collection and preservation of structured and unstructured data from endpoints, cloud platforms, mobile devices, and social media.
  • Hands-on expertise with forensic tools such as Nuix Workstation, Magnet AXIOM, Cellebrite UFED, Cellebrite Physical Analyzer, and GetData Forensic Explorer.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience producing clear, concise client-ready documentation.
  • Experience in coding using languages including but not limited to Python, SQL, and C.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Forensics, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., SANS, EnCE, CFCE, CCE) are highly regarded.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
