Join to apply for the Science Curriculum Writer role at Stile Education.
At Stile, our mission is simple: prepare young citizens to think scientifically about the world around them and make evidence-based decisions for their future. We create thought-provoking, meticulously researched science content that connects real-world discoveries to students' everyday lives.
We're looking for experienced educational publishers who are passionate about science and know how to create resources that engage and inform. Whether it's the gut–brain axis, lithium batteries, sustainable transport, or off-world agriculture, you'll help us bring complex science to life for students in clear, accessible, and inspiring ways.
1 in 3 schools in Australia use Stile, and with a rapid expansion in the US, we expect our reach to continue to grow. The Stile team is made up of teachers, scientists, artists and engineers who care about improving scientific literacy amongst our young citizens.
What you'll doAs a Science Curriculum Writer, you'll draw on your publishing experience to develop and edit classroom resources that are pedagogically sound, scientifically accurate, and visually compelling. You'll ensure our materials meet curriculum standards while delivering the clarity, precision, and consistency of professional publishing.
- Creating world-class science resources.
- Working side-by-side with a team of writers, teachers, engineers, designers and the professional development team to make the best science resources.
- Aligning content to curricula.
- Finding novel ways to integrate aspects of different curricula to create engaging content for educators worldwide.
- Collaborating across disciplines with videographers, designers and engineers to bring ideas to life — video, simulations or interactive tools to model real-world phenomena.
- Testing and teaching the content to ensure it hits the classroom mark.
- Continuing to hone skills and knowledge, including reading about latest trends and peer-reviewing work with colleagues.
- You have professional experience in educational publishing from conception to final publication of digital and/or print resources.
- You're skilled in structuring and editing content, applying style guides, and managing multiple projects to deadlines.
- You have a strong background in science (or the ability to quickly get up to speed on new topics).
- You're meticulous about accuracy but also creative in how information is presented.
- You're organized and thrive in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects at once.
- You're eager to learn, soak up feedback, and continuously improve.
- Teaching experience is highly regarded. Bonus points if you're familiar with NGSS or other US curricula.
- You're curious about new tools and willing to experiment with AI to support creativity.
- Colleagues worth working with: you'll join an 80-strong team of teachers, scientists, artists, and engineers who hold themselves to a high standard.
- Working on something that matters: coaching students to become problem solvers and critical thinkers and helping them sort misinformation from facts.
- Support: a supportive environment with strong management, feedback frameworks, and a great benefits program.
- A fantastic office environment: in-person collaboration with spaces to work and facilities for commuting.
- Flexibility: work hard, but with flexibility to step out for important appointments or school pick-ups.
- Professional development: generous PD allowance to support your growth.
