Permanent, full-time Graduate Law Clerk role in Cairns with Shine Lawyers, offering hands-on legal experience and a pathway to a Solicitor career.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working under the guidance of a senior practitioner to gain experience within the legal practice, assisting in representing clients, and providing accurate legal advice.
  • Developing the ability to effectively assess claims, including liability and quantum.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with clients and peers through exceptional communication.
  • Preparing legal documentation with a high degree of detail and assisting with running a file load with commercial and fiscal awareness.
About You

To be successful in this role, candidates will:

  • Have completed a law degree prior to February 2026.
  • Demonstrate a passion for social justice and an interest in plaintiff law.
  • Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be dedicated to delivering exceptional client service, especially in times of need.
  • Effectively manage multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Show a genuine interest in Shine's areas of practice.
  • Bring diversity of experience and evidence of extra-curricular activities aligned with Shine's work, such as volunteering or community work.
  • Membership in relevant associations and paid or unpaid legal work experience will be favourably considered.
