Overview

Accountant – Financial Excellence at SKIDATA, Port Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. We are a leading provider of advanced access solutions and are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our Finance team. This role focuses on accuracy, structured processes, and supporting the financial backbone of projects and operations.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Handle day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations.
  • Reporting & Compliance: prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Budget & Forecasting Support: Assist in budget preparation, cost analysis, and variance reporting to support management decisions.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient financial processes and internal controls.
  • Audit & Tax Support: Coordinate with auditors and external partners to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with finance, operations, and management teams to provide accurate financial insights and ensure smooth business operations.
What You Bring
  • A university degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in accounting or financial management
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and reporting requirements
  • Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel; ERP system experience is a plus
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Good written and spoken English skills (B1 level or higher); additional languages are a plus
  • A collaborative team player with strong problem-solving abilities and integrity
