About the role:

We are currently seeking casual Commis Chef's to join our kitchen brigades. Opportunity to gain exposure across our high paced, high volume kitchen outlets.

Whether you are newly qualified or someone ready to explore the opportunity for something more, bigger & exiting in your culinary career with us at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley where you will get to experience it all and more

• Assisting with basic food preparation such as chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and portioning ingredients
• Learning and following kitchen procedures, recipes, and presentation standards
• Supporting Chefs de Partie and Demi Chefs in daily operations
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of their work area and tools
• Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are upheld at all times
• Participating in mise en place (prep) for service periods
• Flexibility to work across all hotel kitchens
• Maintain a harmonious relationship with other members of the service team with respect
• Comply with all of the established hotel operational policies & procedures

Skills & Experience:

• A strong willingness to learn and develop culinary skills
• Good attitude, reliability, and ability to follow instructions
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Maintain an acceptable degree of knowledge with regard to food product
  
• Ability to work autonomously & under direction
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organised work environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the kitchen team and guests
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
• A passion for the hospitality industry and a desire to be part of a dynamic team
• Availability to work a flexible roster across 7 days including late nights & Public Holidays
• You will need your own transport to get to work as we are not on a public transport route
• Must have the legal right to work in Australia
