The Procurement & Workplace Experience team are passionate about providing value to the REA Group. Whether this is through driving good service and commercial outcomes from our vendors or managing a best-in-class property management and travel and expenses program or, the team have work closely together to deliver consistent outcomes to the business.

The Sustainability and Procurement Reporting Specialist is accountable for executing our sustainable Procurement strategy, directly contributing to REA's ESG commitments whilst ensuring the ensure precise and timely delivery of key reports across ESG, Supplier Metrics and Workplace. You will play a pivotal role in achieving REA's commitment to reduce scope 3 emissions, and advancing our social Procurement agenda, including mitigating modern slavery risks and delivering on our reconciliation action plan objectives. The Specialist will collaborate closely with a support role dedicated to data extraction and reporting tasks.

What the role is all about

  • Lead the creation and implementation of sustainable procurement initiatives and policies.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive supplier engagement strategy to educate and motivate suppliers to set and achieve emissions reductions targets in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
  • Collaborate with suppliers (in conjunction with the Sustainability team) to collect and analyse emissions data – provide guidance on measurement methodologies, identify reduction opportunities, and support suppliers in setting and achieving science-based targets.
  • Closely monitor and track supplier emissions reductions and targets, to ensure alignment with REA's emissions reduction targets, ensuring accountability and transparency.
  • Support the Procurement team in embedding sustainability into procurement processes.
  • Contribute to identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities within the Procurement team and assist in formulating and executing strategic initiatives and category plans, to align with organisational goals.
  • Engage with Sustainability, Procurement, Workplace Experience teams to support and enhance ESG initiatives and provide oversight of the reporting function to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness in all reports.
  • Identify and engage with key stakeholders within REA to promote supplier decarbonisation efforts and foster cross-functional collaboration, providing guidance on how to incorporate sustainability considerations into their decision-making processes.
  • Provide oversight of existing reports with new data while identifying trend data points. Ensure the alignment of reports with savings tracking and contract management system updates, including the integration of new contracts and forecasting expiries whilst supporting key roles such as the Supplier Risk Officer and Travel & Expenses Specialist.
  • Support Procurement and Workplace initiatives, providing operational support.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in supplier decarbonisation and social procurement

Who we're looking for

  • Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing sustainable procurement practices, with a focus on decarbonisation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks and standards
  • Strong capabilities in data management, analysis, and reporting using primarily Excel, however experience with other similar relevant tools and platforms is also beneficial.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and implement initiatives that enhance procurement alignment with organizational sustainability goals.
  • Track record of identifying process improvement opportunities and effectively implementing changes to optimize team performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and drive results.
  • Ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities while delivering high-quality results.
  • Enthusiastic self-starter; driven and motivated.
