Overview

Fund Accountant role at Sharp & Carter. Our client is a leading commercial and industrial property organisation, located in Melbourne CBD. They are expanding and seeking a Fund Accountant to join their finance team.

The Role

Reporting to the CFO & Financial Controller, responsibilities include:

  • Ensure accurate preparation / reporting of monthly financial results in line with deadlines.
  • Prepare monthly Consolidated Board Pack / Management Reports.
  • Provide financial analysis of group portfolios with clear commentary to accompany the dashboard.
  • Ensure cash flow is adequate for each entity and arrange inter-company cash transfers as required.
  • Identify and contribute to continuous process improvements.
  • Check and post inter-entity loan journals.
  • Post monthly market value movement journals for shares and management funds.
  • Update Term Deposit Register and manage monthly maturities and rollover postings.
  • Prepare and update investment schedules.
  • Set up internal investment distributions based on investor percentages and obtain authorisation for fund releases in a timely manner.
  • Update Share Portfolio Register and maintain graph data.
The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be tertiary qualified in accounting or business, and be part-way through or aiming to complete CA / CPA. You will have 3+ years of professional experience in a similar role, ideally from a professional services firm, and experience working within a tax environment with a strong understanding of current tax legislation. The ability to build strong stakeholder relationships, exceptional communication skills, initiative and attention to detail are essential.
