Joining Arup

Arup's purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

The Arup people function is undergoing an exciting period of transformation. As we establish our new operating model, we are streamlining our processes and aligning our delivery on a global scale, to ensure that we provide an excellent member experience aligned to our values.

The Opportunity

The Global Payroll Transformation Manager will support in the successful delivery of all Payroll transformation projects globally with particular focus on the APAC region.

Existing Delivery Model as Global Payroll Transformation Manager, you'll lead the charge in assessing and refining the current delivery landscape—particularly across the APAC region. Your focus will be on thoroughly documenting existing processes, identifying inefficiencies, and championing continuous improvements throughout the global payroll delivery teams. By driving enhancements across both domestic and mobility payroll life cycles, you'll ensure operational excellence and consistency. This role also involves managing contributions from internal and external stakeholders, as well as navigating key dependencies that influence the overall transformation.

Future Delivery Model Looking ahead, you will play a critical role in reshaping the payroll ecosystem into a more unified and scalable delivery model. Working alongside the Global Head of Payroll, you'll help operationalise the global payroll strategy—evolving from a fragmented in-country and multi-vendor setup to a streamlined, strategic framework. You'll act as the payroll subject matter expert for the global Cloud HCM implementation, supporting systems and processes that enable long-term success. This is your opportunity to influence a newly established global function and leave a legacy of innovation and cohesion.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.

You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?

  • Payroll transformation experience across multiple countries, including standardisation of processes and documenting requirements
  • Implementing a payroll managed service, vendor consolidation or new country set ups
  • Understanding of global payroll environments and processes
  • Strong understanding of payroll systems and third-party service providers, complemented by expertise in HR system integrations—ideally with Oracle EBS or Fusion.
  • Proactively monitoring overall progress of transformation, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate
  • Familiar with risk and issue management processes
  • Maintaining detailed documentation supporting transformation initiatives
  • Proven ability to manage global stakeholders, collaborate across corporate and business teams, and lead transformation meetings to gather requirements and track progress within cross-functional virtual environments.
