We have a full-time, permanent opportunity for a Nurse Unit Manager to join our clinic located by the beautiful Brisbane River, in The Wesley – Auchenflower. As the Nurse Unit Manager, you are responsible for managing the nursing team to meet the needs of GenesisCare's strategy, vision, and values. This is not your typical Nurse Unit manager role; it blends clinical excellence with strategic outreach and community engagement. You'll lead not only within the unit but also externally, building strong relationships with referrers, specialists, and partner services to enhance patient access and continuity of care. If you are wanting to progress your medical oncology nursing leadership career and work with an integrated cancer care provider we would like to hear from you.

More specifically you will:

• Provide Nursing Leadership and Management of staff.

• Excel in Clinical service planning and management.

• Actively engage with referring clinicians and services to streamline patient pathways and promote our radiation therapy offerings.

• Set performance goals with the team and enable these to be achieved.

• Participate in the recruitment and selection of the nursing team.

• Work closely with marketing and liaison teams to support education and awareness campaigns

• Drive and lead the implementation of project initiatives also participating in project groups as required.

• Assist and support staff in education, research and development opportunities.

• Be comfortable with an electronic clinical prescribing system.

• Champion a patient-first approach by promoting teamwork, empathy and shared decision- making.

• Facilitate effective communication and coordination between clinical teams to optimise treatment and patient outcomes.

• Be part of a supportive leadership team that values your expertise and empowers you to make a meaningful impact.

• Encourage a workplace where connection, support and shared purpose are central to daily practice.

• You bring a passion for oncology care and a flair for building relationships that make a lasting impact.

We're interested in hearing from people who have:

• Registration as a Nurse with AHPRA.

• Experience in leading a team and managing people effectively to achieve goals.

• Demonstrated clinical knowledge and the ability to apply relevant legislation, guidelines and standards.

• Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients and their carer's.

• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Commitment to the application of quality improvement and best practice principles, including the NSQHS.

• Strong commitment to quality patient care

Desirable:

• Post graduate qualifications or experience in management or healthcare administration.

• Experience in Radiation Oncology.

• Demonstrated ability to facilitate change management.

• Demonstrated ability to create an environment that develops staff potential.
