About The Opportunity

Anglicare NT's Staff & Community Chaplain provides pastoral care, support and opportunities for engagement in spirituality to Anglicare NT staff, volunteers, program participants and community members engaged with the work of Anglicare NT. Staff and Community Chaplaincy is provided through regular visits, providing in person and on-line support for individuals and groups of people, producing and publishing written material, support at staff induction and occasional public religious events.

As Staff & Community Chaplain, you will ensure that community engagement is contemporary and well targeted through ongoing consultation and review while building strong and meaningful stakeholder relationships and partnerships.

You will be instrumental in delivering pastoral care, fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture, while also engaging local Anglican churches to support Anglicare NT's mission and service delivery and the spiritual well-being of program participants.

To be successful in this role you will be a caring and relational leader with:
  • Eligibility to hold a clergy licence from the Anglican Bishop of the NT or equivalent standing in your Christian denomination.
  • Experience in pastoral care, ideally with qualifications in counselling or Clinical Pastoral Education.
  • A deep commitment to inclusive spiritual care, cultural safety, and confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to support people through personal and work-related challenges.
  • The ability to organise spiritual development opportunities and lead or support liturgical events.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must provide 100 points of identification to confirm Australian citizenship or eligibility to work in Australia; possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a current National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a valid NT driver's licence.

Experience of working closely with and having a strong understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture would be considered an advantage.
