Role Description

This is a role for a Disability Support Worker, located on-site in Newcastle, NSW. The Disability Support Worker will provide support to individuals with significant physical and mental health needs, helping them live more independently. Daily tasks include assisting with personal care, facilitating safe and structured transitions from hospital, and delivering ongoing tailored support. Collaboration with health professionals, clients, and families to ensure person-centred care, safeguard wellbeing, and enhance quality of life is integral to this role.

Qualifications
  • Experience as a Support Worker and/or Dementia
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding practices and protocols
  • Compassionate and empathetic nature
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in disability support or healthcare are advantageous
  • Valid driver's license
  • First aid and CPR certification is desirable
