Overview

Plant Mechanic - Leading Hand at WesTrac Cat

Location: Perth Precinct, WA, AU

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the Leading Hand Plant Mechanic will be responsible for leading a team to success in the New Machines Team to ensure delivery dates and deadlines are met. You will be working on Caterpillar building and construction equipment, performing a variety of tasks, including dealer provided option installations, maintenance and builds to customer specification, ensuring optimum safety and efficiency throughout the entire build.

Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off, 12 hours per day

Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate a team of up to 10 employees within the New Machines Team.
  • Work alongside team members to manage and complete high-volume tasks efficiently.
  • Promote, encourage and monitor safety to a high standard within the team.
Qualifications
  • Australian Recognised Trade Certificate (Heavy Vehicle Mechanic)
  • Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining high safety standards
  • CAT equipment experience is highly desirable
  • Team leadership experience with ability to lead from the front with safety as a priority
  • Strong understanding of KPI metrics from receiving a task to component dispatch
  • Ability to coach and mentor teams
