Business Services Manager - Melbourne: Lead and Grow Your Career

Looking for a role where you can lead a team, shape client strategy, and move beyond pure compliance?

A progressive Melbourne firm is seeking a Business Services Manager to join its growing advisory team. You'll work closely with business owners, private groups and high-net-worth families, taking the lead on client relationships while mentoring a capable team of accountants and advisors.

The role offers genuine client-facing work, exposure to strategic advisory, and the backing of a collaborative culture that encourages growth and innovation.

What you'll be doing

• Managing a portfolio of SMEs, family groups and private clients across business services and advisory

• Leading a team of professionals, providing mentoring and workflow oversight

• Building long-term client relationships and identifying opportunities to add value

• Driving workflow management, reviewing complex compliance work, and ensuring technical excellence

• Collaborating with colleagues across advisory and planning services for integrated outcomes

• Contributing to business development and helping grow the firm's presence

What you'll bring

• CA or CPA qualified with 5+ years in public practice, including at least 2 years in a leadership role

• Strong technical expertise in tax and compliance with proven advisory experience

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage and mentor a team

• A proactive, commercially minded approach with strong problem-solving ability

• Confidence with cloud-based platforms like Xero (G-Suite exposure an advantage)
