About the role

As a supported independent living lifestyle support worker, you will play a vital role in supporting our recipients to live their best lives—empowering individuals to build confidence, work towards their goals, improve their mental wellbeing, and connect with the community.

You will work one-on-one in the homes and communities of our recipients to support them in living as independently as possible. Selectability is currently seeking individuals interested in supported independent living roles. These roles offer a variety of shifts—including day, night, and weekends—providing flexibility to suit different lifestyles and commitments.

Balancing work and personal commitments can be challenging. Whether pursuing further education or caring for loved ones during the day, the flexibility of night shifts can support your lifestyle.

You may work with recipients in their homes to carry out activities such as cleaning and organizing, preparing healthy meals, maintaining yards, and encouraging positive choices.

About you

To be successful, you must:

  • Be available for sleepover shifts and weekends to support the 24/7 operations of the Supported Independent Living (SIL) house.
  • Possess clear and effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrate computer literacy and accuracy in record management.
  • Have experience working in a team environment.
  • Exhibit problem-solving abilities.
  • Follow policies and procedures at all times.
  • Work effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals.

Key responsibilities

  • Hold a current minimum P1 "C" class Queensland driver's license.
  • Own a registered, roadworthy, and fully comprehensive vehicle.
  • Possess current nationally recognized First Aid and CPR certificates (or the ability to obtain).
  • Obtain a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card).
  • Obtain NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
  • Complete the NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You'.
