HBA Legal presents a unique chance to excel in the legal field by joining their team as a Solicitor. In this role, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and assistance to clients in dealing with their legal matters.
This position is part of the firm's Statutory Lines practice group and reports directly into the Practice Group Lead. The specialist industry work involves Western Australian CTP with occasional State Workers' Compensation matters.
As a Solicitor within the HBA Legal team, your key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and developing strong client relationships through value-added activities and support, ensuring clients are informed of case progress throughout the matter.
- Providing guidance and running files in a clear and logical manner within required timeframes, developing sound case management strategies.
- Undertaking and completing work with the expected level of guidance and supervision, including analysis of evidence, opinion work, preparation of documents, speaking to witnesses, and briefing experts.
- Sharing knowledge, experience, and insights with colleagues to enhance client experience and internal knowledge management.
- Collaborating with colleagues and experts to establish and verify the basis for legal proceedings.
- Ensuring understanding and compliance with the firm's policies and procedures.
- Supervising paralegals working in the team and delegating work direction to administrative assistants.
- Staying up-to-date with industry developments, including constitution, statutes, decisions, regulations, and ordinances of quasi-judicial bodies to determine ramifications for cases.
Under the guidance of senior team members, you will grow your technical skills in key areas such as legal writing, research, and information synthesis, analytical thinking, and commercial acumen. They will provide mentoring from legal experts for your continual growth and learning. Your billable target is 6.7 hours per day.
