Description As an integrated wealth business now serving retail investors, superannuation members and a wide range of financial professionals, Betashares is expanding its customer engagement strategies and integrating technologies to make more personalised, automated and effective communication journeys and digital experiences.With a solid data and Martech foundation in place (CDP + Braze + Cloud Data Warehouse), we are seeking a Technical Personalisation & Lifecycle Specialist to take our digital engagement strategy to the next level. This role sits within the Marketing team and will work closely with Product, Data, and Technology teams to design and deliver multi-channel lifecycle programs that are both personalised and scalable.
The role will focus on the technical setup of sophistical multi-channel campaigns that are tightly integrated into our various customer lifecycle journeys. This role is ideal for someone who understands the end-to-end mechanics of lifecycle campaigns and is comfortable working across data structures, APIs, and platform integrations to improve digital experiences.
Role Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end setup of marketing journeys in Braze including logic building, personalisation (Liquid) and multi-channel orchestration (email, push, in-app, external marketing platforms for retargeting, etc).
- Drive innovation in how we personalise and communicate across both existing and emerging channels, from experimenting with new touchpoints to enabling real-time personalisation on our website and app. Translate strategic marketing briefs into fully automated journeys with minimal technical dependencies.
- Build and manage segmentation logic based on behavioural, demographic and product-based traits.
- Leverage tools like webhooks, APIs, and partner integrations to enable Braze-driven engagement from external platforms (e.g. webinars, events, referrals).
- Work with data, product and technology teams to define the events, traits and architecture needed to bring complex journeys to life.
- Collaborate with web developers to enable dynamic content and embedded experiences across digital channels.
- Set up and run A/B tests and iterate on performance insights to iterate and optimise journeys.
- Maintain campaign hygiene, documentation and scalable templates for future reuse
- Be a technical champion within the Marketing team, helping uplift Martech capability and reduce reliance on engineering teams for campaign execution.
- 5+ years technical experience working with Braze (strong preference), or similar platforms such as Customer.io, Klaviyo, Ortto, Clevertap, Iterable or others.
- Strong understanding of how to build and manage multi-step journeys using features like Canvas, Liquid personalisation, Connected Content and Content Cards.
- Comfortable designing personalised user experiences using dynamic content and logic-based triggers across various touchpoints.
- Familiarity working with CDPs such as Segment, Rudderstack, or mParticle and experience working with tracking dictionaries, data layers, and event taxonomies.
- Experience with product analytics tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel, Heap or others to inform and optimise engagement strategies.
- Experience integrating external platforms (e.g. webinar, referral, or survey tools) into Braze using APIs or partner connectors.
- Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and experience mapping data into Braze is a plus.
- Comfortable collaborating with web developers, data engineers, and product teams, with a working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JS and common tools of trade such as webhooks and ETL pipelines.
- Meticulous attention to detail and documentation best practices.
- Passionate about innovation and experimentation including website personalisation, new channel activation and exploring opportunities across AI, automation and scalable dynamic content delivery.
