Overview

Join our Somerset College teaching team on the Gold Coast in 2026 for a five year fixed term opportunity with possible extension. We are seeking an exceptional Teacher – Numeracy Coach for Prep to Year 6 to drive student learning outcomes by leading evidence-based numeracy teaching practices.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and model evidence-based numeracy teaching practices across Prep to Year 6.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design, implement, and assess numeracy programs that support student achievement.
  • Contribute to a positive learning culture aligned with the school values of respect and integrity.
  • Engage with students, families, and the school community to support student success.
Qualifications
  • Strong disciplinary and pedagogical knowledge in numeracy.
  • Disciplinary tertiary qualifications.
  • Teacher registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) and current First Aid certification.
  • Ability to effectively work with students, colleagues and the community.
  • Dedication to integrity, reliability, sound judgement, service and risk adversity.
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme experience is well regarded.
  • Physical fitness to work across a vibrant campus and perform manual handling tasks.
Employment Details
  • Employment type: Contract (five year fixed term with possible extension)
  • Location: Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia
  • Salary: A$92,126.00/yr – A$131,398.00/yr (base pay range; actual pay based on skills and experience)
