About the School
Norfolk Village State School is a large P-6 school located in Ormeau on the Northern Gold Coast.
Your Role
As an Engagement Teacher Aide you will have responsibility for the following:

- Communicating effectively and displaying high level of interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member.
- Maintaining anecdotal records on students for use in reviewing student's development.
- Displaying respect and empathy for at-risk students with high level needs and trauma backgrounds.
- Displaying confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitivity to students and their backgrounds.
- Assisting Complex Case Teacher including duplicating and photocopying teaching materials, compiling student results records, assisting in organising programs of instruction, resource preparation etc.
- Assisting in the supervision of education activities, under the direction of Complex Case teacher and/or classroom teacher.
- Assisting in preparing, storing, making available and clearing away teaching equipment and materials.
- Assisting teaching staff with playground supervision.
- Supporting student learning.
- Supporting student social-emotional well-being.
- Increasing student engagement.
- Forming positive relationships with staff and students.
- Specific Literacy and Numeracy responsibilities include:

- Support for teachers in providing learning materials for students at risk
- Working with small groups as well as individual students
- Use of iPads when working with students.

About You
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to form positive, professional relationships with staff and students
- Ability and willingness to manage and support challenging behaviours
- Ability and willingness to support at-risk students with trauma backgrounds
- Prior experience is not essential if key capabilities can still be demonstrated. Experience in other fields will be valued eg. Sport coaching, working with children in other industries and/or organisations.

When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
