Remuneration: Starting at $93,611 per year, plus up to 13% superannuation.

Role Overview
Join Gympie Regional Council as an Officer Investigations Development Compliance in our Compliance Branch. You will oversee compliance in planning, development, building, plumbing, and stormwater drainage, ensuring safety, sustainability, and community standards.
This role involves delivering high-standard compliance services aligned with Council and community expectations.
Essential Knowledge & Skills
- Experience in a regulatory field with knowledge of relevant Acts, regulations, codes, and schemes.
- Ability to interpret and enforce legislation, including state and local laws.
- Teamwork skills to achieve outcomes in planning, building, plumbing, and stormwater compliance.
- Strong communication skills for reports and stakeholder interactions.
- Conflict-management skills and commitment to safe work procedures.
- 11067NAT Course – Swimming Pool Safety Inspections.
- Current Queensland 'C' Class driver's license.
- Construction Industry Safety Induction Card.
Essential Requirements
- Respond to community complaints respectfully and promptly.
- Provide enforcement advice clearly to stakeholders.
- Investigate and rectify breaches of legislation regarding development, building, pool safety, plumbing, stormwater, and local laws.
- Research legislation and make enforcement decisions to ensure compliance.
- Maintain detailed reports and documentation.
- Utilize Council's technology for case management.
- Gather evidence for enforcement actions and attend court as needed.
- Build relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Identify process improvements and undertake post-enforcement checks.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy laws.
- Perform other duties as directed.
