About the role:
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Hospital Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our North Lakes Hospital. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for optimising efficiency, profitability, and productivity while ensuring every team member has the resources they need to excel. Collaborating closely with the General Manager, you will play a key role in enhancing the experience and journey of our patients, referring veterinarians, and clients.

Our North Lakes hospital, approximately 35km from Brisbane CBD, is an award-winning architecturally designed hospital by Vokes and Peters in 2016. Housing 8 consultation rooms, 2 surgical theatres in house computed tomography (CT) scanning, direct radiography, endoscopy, laparoscopy, large in-house pathology suite, procedure rooms and intensive care equipment, our hospital is well equipped to care for our patients' needs. Natural light and courtyard gardens foster a calm, open and collegial atmosphere.

Key responsibilities for the Hospital Manager role include:

  • Ensure hospital processes and procedures are maintained, effectively communicated, and consistently followed across all teams
  • Review performance data, including financials and activity reports, to optimise hospital operations and resource allocation
  • Support nurse unit managers and the client services manager in planning and prioritising work schedules to achieve the best patient outcomes
  • Identify and explore business opportunities to drive growth and improve service offerings
  • Work alongside the Learning & Development Coordinator to address skill gaps and ensure training aligns with hospital needs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with referring veterinarians and support marketing initiatives to enhance brand awareness
  • Plan and coordinate hospital-wide events, fostering a positive workplace culture and engagement among staff

Requirements of the Role:
We welcome applications from experienced professionals or from individuals seeking to expand their skills and knowledge with our support and guidance.
  • Qualifications or experience in a relevant field, such as business, commerce, business management, or similar (highly desired)
  • Demonstrated previous experience in leadership or management position
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organisational abilities
  • Preferred background includes previous experience in a veterinary setting and a fundamental understanding of our industry
