What You Will Be Doing

As a Pathology Collector Reliever, you will cover scheduled or unplanned absences at different collection clinics and hospital environments. You will collect blood and coordinate specimen samples, delivering great customer service and quality healthcare. Travel to different ACCs and Hospitals within a defined geographical area is required.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Collecting samples (blood and non-blood) with care and attention
• Filling available shifts across a geographical area
• Keeping meticulous records for every patient and sample
• Delivering documentation within strict turnaround times
• Preparing and packaging specimens for transport and testing
• Liaising with customers, clinic staff and couriers

What Type of Person Will Be Successful

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Pathology Collector, or will have gained a Cert III and be looking to embark on your Pathology Collection career. A Registered Nurse looking to swap weekend/overnight work for regular daytime shifts could also be a fit.

These are the type of attributes & skills you would possess:

• Experience and knowledge in Phlebotomy or Certificate III in Pathology Collection or a healthcare background
• Excellent customer service and communication skills with high empathy
• Organised with strong time management and attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously, sometimes in a solo clinic
• Valid driver's license and flexibility to travel to multiple clinics
• Working with Children's Check or willingness to obtain one
• Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen, or valid visa/work rights
• Willingness to travel to varying clinics & hospitals as needed

Vaccination Requirements

• Vaccine preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B is a requirement of this role

Other vaccinations based on location may be required
