How will I help?

We are seeking a self-motivated and proactive individual to join our team based at our office in Bowen Hills, QLD.

What will my day-to-day look like?

  1. Working on a rotating roster (between 7:30 am and 6:30 pm), including Saturdays. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  2. Liaising with patients at hospitals, Medical Consultants, and external organizations regarding hospital fees and charges (face-to-face or over the phone).
  3. Meeting patients in hospitals to obtain financial consent and relevant admission & private health insurance paperwork to collect fees.
  4. Assisting with account queries for patients and health funds.
  5. Providing excellent customer service by building and maintaining effective relationships.
  6. Maintaining confidentiality of patient records.
  7. Ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, Privacy laws, and ACCC/ASIC Debt Collection Guidelines.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Prior experience in a similar healthcare role (desirable but not essential).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills.
  • An understanding of private health insurance and related processes (desirable).
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (essential).
  • Resilience in challenging conversations and empathy for vulnerable customers, including those facing hardship.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
