Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Domestic Assistant to join our team at Douglas Street Surgery. The post holder will provide a domestic service to patients, staff and visitors of NHS Lanarkshire (NHSL) premises through the use of effective and efficient methods, which deliver a 'safe' and welcoming environment and meet the required NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) standards. Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
  • Undertake on-the-job training and induction (this will generally take 4-6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked) to achieve full competency across a range of duties
  • Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training
  • Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards
  • Undertake and complete the NHSS Domestic Services Workbook.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively and efficiently in a busy environment
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

  • Recognised SVQ or relevant equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working in a domestic services/cleaning environment
  • Ability to use a range of electrical cleaning equipment

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in the PSSD department within Douglas Street Surgery. The working pattern for this role is: 1645 till 2000 Monday to Thursday & 1645-1918 Friday.
