Program Director – ICT & Business Transformation (Queensland Government)

We're working with a high-profile Queensland Government agency on the recruitment of an experienced Program Director to lead the delivery of a major, multi-year Technology Roadmap. This roadmap sets the agency's digital direction across claims management, data, analytics, CRM, and AI, with multiple concurrent initiatives at varying stages of delivery.

This is a hands-on delivery role at program level, perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic government environment and enjoys driving strategy through to execution across multiple streams.

The Role

You'll be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of a broad technology uplift program, ensuring alignment with the organisation's strategic priorities and operational goals. This includes governance, reporting, procurement coordination, and leading engagement across internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate delivery of the agency's 3-year Technology Roadmap
  • Work across multiple delivery streams including claims platform enhancements, CRM, AI, and data/analytics uplift
  • Engage closely with internal business leaders, stream leads, and central procurement/IT teams
  • Prepare governance board briefings, business cases, funding requests, and executive updates
  • Support full-market procurement processes and vendor engagement activities
  • Track delivery performance, risks, and benefits, ensuring strong alignment to strategic outcomes
  • Lead program reporting, cadence meetings, and roadmap delivery governance

Skills & Experience
  • Strong track record delivering ICT and transformation programs within Queensland Government
  • Proven program leadership across multiple concurrent streams (data, CRM, digital platforms)
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, able to influence at executive and stream lead level
  • Confidence preparing and presenting board-level documentation and reporting
  • Familiarity with Queensland Government procurement, governance, and compliance frameworks
  • Exposure to claims, insurance, regulatory or service delivery environments is highly desirable
  • Experience coordinating delivery in low-to-medium maturity environments with evolving structure
  • Understanding of technologies like Appian, CRM platforms, analytics, or AI will be beneficial
  • Hands-on, delivery-focused approach, not just top-down oversight
