About the role
A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at Mitchelton Pre-Schooling Centre (MPC). This is a first-term contract position commencing in Term 1, 2026, working with our Unit 1-3 day group on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (37.5 hours per fortnight). The role offers potential for contract extension for the remainder of 2026, with the possibility of permanency. Employment will be in accordance with the MPC Early Childhood Education Enterprise Agreement 2024.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent with ACECQA approval
  • Current Queensland Teachers Registration
  • Current Working with Children Check or Exemption card for registered Teachers
  • Current First Aid certificate with Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
  • Current Child Protection training
  • Passion for child-centred, play-based learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development

  • View children as active and capable partners in their learning experience and have the ability to plan responsively, collaboratively, and authentically
  • Support children, families, management committee, and staff members to develop a sense of belonging and place at MPC through meaningful connections and relationships
  • Strong understanding of the 'Code of Ethics' by Early Childhood Australia
  • Commitment to Child Protection and Safety
  • Understanding of the National Quality Framework v2.0 and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines
  • Understanding of 'Play' and its importance to children's learning
  • Value and support collegial partnerships
  • Commitment to open and effective communication with children, parents, management, and colleagues
  • A growth mindset and commitment to professional development and team collaboration
  • Commitment to sustainability, diversity, and inclusion
