Job Description

About the role:

Based at our NewcastleDepot and reporting to the Depot Manager, the Logistics Scheduler will be responsible for:

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Scheduling day to day deliveries of bulk fuels from terminal to customer and company delivery sites utilising the available fleet based at the NewcastleDepot
  • Ensuring that Lowes fleet operates efficiently by minimising operating costs through effective load maximisation, route planning and driver scheduling
  • Entering scheduled deliveries and delivery details promptly into the Lowes database in accordance with NHVR requirements
  • Liaising and communicating with company drivers, customers and transport sub-contractors on a daily basis
  • Supporting depot operations including trip processing and dispatch activities
  • Remote monitoring of fuel tank levels across sites throughout service areas
  • Meeting and exceeding customer service level requirements
  • Schedule trucks servicing and maintenance
  • Managing driver rosters and timesheets
  • Support of Depot Operations

Skills Required:

  • Previous scheduling experience considered an advantage but not essential as full on the job training will be provided
  • A good understanding of Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) and national heavy vehicles regulatory requirements
  • Ability to handle changing situations under pressure and make optimal logistic decisions
  • Critical thinking with a focus on problem solving and solution based outcomes
  • Capable of working unsupervised and managing time effectively
  • Strong transport & logistics background
  • Operational experience is an advantage
