Financial Accountant
  • $500- $600 per day plus super
  • Immediate start available, CBD location, 6-month contract
  • Month-end close, analysis, budgets, financial reporting
About the Company

Our client is a large Government organisation with oversight over some major infrastructure projects. This Financial Accountant position is a temporary resource with the potential to be extended. You will prepare and ensure all budgeting and reporting matters are taken care of in a timely manner

This is an exciting opportunity to be fully responsible for managing the financial performance of a key department within the organisation.

They are based in the CBD and next to public transport, therefore easily accessible and close to everything.

About the Role
  • Providing financial analysis with respect to new projects and initiatives.
  • Ongoing forecasting and analysis around how departments and business units track with respect to budget versus actual.
  • Preparing financial statements and reports, adhering to timelines and relevant accounting standards.
  • Work with different stakeholder groups to better understand and help them manage their financial obligations to the organisation.
  • Ensure adherence to internal and external controls and procedures.
Skills & Experience
  • Tertiary qualification in accounting and finance: CA, CPA preferred
  • Experience of working in a broad role including analysis and monthly financial reporting
Experience working in medium/large organisations fully responsible for:
  • Month-end close, financial reporting, reconcilliations & financial analysis
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Someone who can manage different stakeholders across a range of departments.
The organisation is going through a large amount of business improvement and so would suit someone who enjoys working with different processes and systems. It is essential you have good excel skills and are familiar with using one of the main ERP packages.
