About the role
As a Liability Claims Consultant, you will manage complex General Liability claims for key customers within our Comcover Claims Portfolio. This role offers a chance to work with a diverse and unique claims portfolio alongside experienced liability insurance professionals, supporting your development. We are seeking an experienced Liability Claims Consultant, Claims Specialist, or legal professional transitioning into liability claims.
How you'll make an impact
- Manage a portfolio of complex liability claims end-to-end, including General Liability and Employment Practices Liability
- Interpret policy wording accurately
- Provide recommendations on indemnity, liability, quantum, reserving, and settlement
- Handle claims of varying complexities
- Liaise with third-party providers like solicitors, loss adjusters, and barristers
- Settle claims within client instructions and company guidelines
- Attend mediations (interstate travel may be required)
- Ensure compliance with policy requirements
- Resolve complaints per company policies
About you
What we're looking for:
- Australian Citizenship is essential (requires Commonwealth Security Clearance)
- Experience in liability claims, public liability, professional indemnity, or general insurance management
- Desire to learn and grow within a collaborative team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
- Degree in Law or insurance qualification (desirable)
- Legal professionals interested in liability claims (desirable)
- Industry-specific ANZIIF qualifications (desirable)
