Fix Auto Mulgrave is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Service Manager, this role is responsible for carrying out high-quality service and repair work on customer vehicles in accordance with repair orders and dealership standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and test vehicles to identify mechanical issues and complete preventative maintenance.
  • Perform services such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotations, wheel balancing, and filter replacements.
  • Diagnose and repair engine failures, brake issues, gearbox faults, and electrical/mechanical malfunctions.
  • Conduct test drives and make adjustments to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
  • Comply with all relevant safety and emissions regulations.
  • Maintain vehicle appearance by cleaning and detailing as needed.
  • Record all service and repair activity accurately.
  • Maintain workshop tools and equipment by following operating procedures and performing maintenance.
  • Manage parts and supplies inventory, including ordering and stock verification.
  • Stay current with automotive technologies and best practices through training and reading technical manuals.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to carry out MOT-related inspections and vehicle assessments
  • Experience rebuilding engines and gearboxes
  • Familiarity with LPG conversions and tuning
  • Experience fitting radios and other vehicle features
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and time management skills
  • Valid driver's license
