SA Health is seeking a dedicated Safety, Quality and Performance Officer to join our dynamic team at Flinders Medical Centre within the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network. This full-time position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on patient safety and healthcare quality across Adelaide's southern metropolitan region.

About the role :

Reporting to the Nursing Director, this role uses clinical knowledge, expertise, and leadership skills to facilitate and lead improvements in systems and processes that contribute to patient safety and quality outcomes. Duties include :

  • Supporting innovative approaches to delivering safe healthcare through quality improvement activities and projects.
  • Collaborating with Divisional Services and professional groups to implement programs that enhance patient safety, quality, and risk management.
  • Contributing to the development of a positive patient safety culture within the Network and supporting the implementation of the Divisional and Network's Strategic Safety & Quality Plans.

About you :

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding or eligible for a current practicing certificate OR an appropriate qualification in an Allied Health discipline from a recognized tertiary institution, leading to registration or eligibility for membership with the professional association.
  • Proven experience in managing significant projects to successful outcomes.
  • Effective communication skills, including presenting complex concepts publicly.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • At least 3 years of clinical experience post-registration.
