About the role
We are currently looking for a 2–4 year Construction Lawyer to join our highly regarded Sydney team. Our Construction team is well recognised by government departments, major construction companies and developer clients for practical and commercial advice. In this role you will further progress your career whilst working with a supportive, close-knit team. You will have the opportunity to work closely with partners and clients on interesting and high-quality work. Our back-end team has a number of current mandates on several high-profile proceedings in the Supreme Court of NSW, a significant portfolio of security of payment matters and regular work involving a variety of forms of ADR (including expert determination and mediation). Our front-end team is engaged on a number of projects across the public and private sectors, with an impressive mix of private, government and contractor clients.
About you
In order to be considered, to be successful and thrive in this role, you will have the following attributes:
- Have a mix of both back-end and front-end experience, preferably within a top-tier or mid-tier construction or projects team.
- Experience in security of payment matters, drafting of submissions and witness statements will be highly regarded.
- Strong drafting skills (commensurate with level of experience) and a good eye for detail.
- Have a strong technical legal ability and a genuine interest in working in the construction and infrastructure sector.
- A client-focused approach with a deep understanding of commercial drivers.
- The ability to demonstrate exceptional drafting skills.
- An independent thinker, comfortable learning new concepts quickly.
