The Opportunity
Due to continuing growth, we currently have an opening for an Assistant Area Manager to join our team. The position will mainly involve afternoon and evening site supervision, managing staff, and overseeing commercial cleaning operations. The role works closely with an experienced Area Manager and is ideal for someone looking to grow within the cleaning industry.
The Role & Responsibilities :
Your hands-on role will be to continuously improve our cleaning standards through training and engaging with our cleaning staff, understanding scope, and delivering superior service across the portfolio.
Supporting your Area Manager and as directed by them, your focus will be to manage the quality of work delivered by your cleaning team.
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of cleaning services at your assigned sites.
- Develop a detailed understanding of site scope and service delivery.
- Perform onsite training and supervision of cleaning staff.
- Monitor and document staff performance.
- Conduct toolbox talks.
- Assist with rostering and recruitment processes.
- Monitor stock levels of consumables, order, and replenish as needed.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of onsite equipment, and train staff accordingly.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Participate in internal and external meetings.
- Assist in onboarding new contracts.
- Perform regular site inspections.
- Report maintenance issues.
- Ensure all site equipment remains in good working order.
- Handle ad-hoc tasks and rectification work at short notice.
- Fill in for unmanned shifts when required.
Requirements
- A dedicated individual with a career focus in cleaning.
- Ability to cooperate with other Supervisors and Area Managers.
- Experience managing groups of cleaning staff with proven leadership skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, time management, and reporting skills.
- An adaptable person who enjoys a dynamic, changing workplace.
- Flexibility and proactivity.
- High attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to provide a current National Police Clearance.
