The Role

Public Sector People are working with a government organisation in the Sunshine Coast, who are seeking an experienced WHS Project Co-Ordinator on an initial 3 month temp contract + extensions with the opportunity to go direct with the company on a permanent position.

  • Attractive pay rates of $58-62 per hour + Super
Responsibilities
  • Monitor operational processes for compliance with standards e.g. systems review and project audits and inspections.
  • Demonstrate strategic, innovative and accountable leadership within the HS&W Operations Team and to a range of Branches, ensuring legislative compliance and HS&W objectives and targets are delivered.
  • Provide high level technical advice and support to the Health & Safety Program and other stakeholders.
  • Provide advice and operational assistance to Project Managers and staff on systems issues, e.g. the preparation of various project plans.
  • Ensure the uniform implementation of various systems, including Highway 21, Environment, Quality and Safety, and ensure they comply with standards (e.g. systems review and project audits and inspections).
  • Report to management on implementation progress and system performance.
  • Provide leadership in identifying emerging H&S issues, embedding H&S risk management, systems and procedures and championing active engagement across the organisation.
About You
  • Cert IV Qualified and at least 5 years' experience in WHS
  • Background in internal and external auditing of WHS compliance frameworks
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills to assess WHS effectiveness, monitor learning initiatives, and enhance program delivery
  • Occasional shift pattern (loading will be applied)
  • Available for interview this week and start ASAP
