As a Senior Medical Receptionist, you'll be at the heart of our patient experience, creating a warm and welcoming environment and supporting our less experienced staff to develop along their career journey.

We are currently seeking a Senior Medical Receptionist to join the team in a full-time permanent role, working rotating shifts across our Launceston clinics, Monday to Friday between 6.45am to 9pm.

Role Overview:

As a Senior Medical Receptionist, your responsibilities will include:

• Greet patients and callers professionally and courteously.
• Assist patients with appointment scheduling.
• Manage medical records confidentially and efficiently.
• Process patient payments (cash, Eftpos, direct billing).
• Invoice Medicare, Private Health Funds, TAC, DVA, and Workcover.
• Handle internal emails and inquiries.
• Maintain a tidy reception waiting area.
• Work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Communicate with referring doctors and hospital staff courteously.
• Fill in the roster when staff are on leave.
• Ensure accurate storage and retrieval of patient and practice records.
• Maintain patient personal and financial information confidentiality.
• Complete recalls and follow privacy protocols.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous medical receptionist and call centre experience (highly desirable but not essential).
• Clear communication skills, both in speaking and listening, along with patience and empathy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer service experience.
• Flexibility to work autonomously and in a team environment.
