We are proud to be one of the UK's leading independent Water Hygiene specialists and now has never been a better time to get on board.Job PurposeThe Engineering Team Lead (PPM) is a leadership role responsible for managing a team of approximately 30 engineers, overseeing operational and compliance activities, and ensuring maintenance work aligns with company objectives.
The Engineering Team Lead reports to the Engineering Manager and collaborates with Technical Lead Engineers tomaintain high standards of performance and compliance.Key Responsibilities & AccountabilitiesLeadership, Management, and Accountability (LMA): Provide strong leadership to ateam of 30 engineers, fostering accountability, motivation, and alignment withorganizational goals.Onboarding of New Starters: Oversee the onboarding process for new engineers,ensuring effective integration and training.
This must be done in line with SMSquality standardRecruitment Implementation: Work with HR and the Engineering Manager toimplement recruitment strategies, including candidate selection and interviews.Forecasting Analysis and Action: Analyze maintenance forecasts and developaction plans to ensure schedules are met in line with company targets.Engineering Compliance Completion: Ensure compliance tasks, such as PortableAppliance Testing (PAT) and ladder inspections, are completed accurately and ontime.Available Day Management: Manage team schedules to ensure availability forplanned and ad-hoc maintenance tasks.Lock Up Management: Oversee secure lock-up procedures for equipment andfacilities, ensuring safety and compliance.Work EnvironmentFull-time position with a mix of office-based and field-based work.May require travel to operational sites.Fast-paced environment requiring adaptability and proactive leadership.Key Skills & ExperienceLeadership & Team ManagementAnalytical skills for forecasting and planningStrong communication and organizational skillsKnowledge of compliance and safety standardsProblem-solving and decision-makingKey QualificationsDegree or diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g.,City & Guilds, NVQ) preferred.Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role withinmaintenance or engineering.Strong knowledge of compliance requirements, including PATtesting, ladder inspections, and health and safety regulations.Experience in recruitment, onboarding, and workforceplanning.Familiarity with forecasting and scheduling tools.Pay and Benefits37.5 hours per week - 8am-4pm (Monday - Friday)22 Days holiday per year plus bank holidays, offering you additional 1 day leave for birthday after 2 years serviceCompany iPad & Mobile PhoneBrand New Uniform, Equipment, Tool Bag & PPEModern, fully serviced, company van & business fuel cardTrade Cards to ensure you are not far from gaining new suppliesCity & Guilds Affiliated Training ProgrammePrivate Medical Care or Alternative Cash Plan after 2 years serviceEnhanced Sick, Maternity & Paternity Leave24/7 Employee Assistance ProgrammeEmployee Discount Scheme - saving up to £240 per month on food & groceriesCore Values Champions Rewards - peer nomination every quarter with reward vouchers for nominationsAnnual development & review process
